Internal Hub for 812 Consulting

6/24/25 -

Developed of a full-stack internal platform for 812 Consulting, designed to streamline operations and improve the member experience. Built and deployed using Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cursor, and Vercel, the system consolidated key workflows into one centralized space including event sign-ups, onboarding progression, calendars, and shared resources.

The platform serves 60+ active members, replacing scattered tools and manual processes. It reduced onboarding time, improved visibility into upcoming events, and made internal collaboration more intuitive.

Challenge

812 had grown quickly, but managing events, onboarding members, and sharing resources was scattered across emails, Slack messages, and random folders in Google Drive. Members often didn’t know where to find materials, and leads spent time reinventing processes each semester.

Results

The internal hub gives every member a single place to:

  • Register for events and workshops

  • Access club resources, like past presentations and member resumes

  • View the org calendar and role descriptions

  • Stay up-to-date with club operations

Process

Research & Needs Mapping
Talked to exec board members and team leads to identify common friction points: onboarding gaps, missing resources, attendance tracking issues.

Content Architecture
Mapped out key buckets (Events, Resources, Attendance, Admin Panel) and structured navigation for clarity.

Tooling & Build
Built the system using Firebase Studio for UI and Cursor for backend logic. Focused on making the experience lightweight and sustainable with minimal maintenance, easy handoff, and fast access. Deployed and hosted on Vercel.

Testing & Rollout
Soft-launched with exec board → iterated based on feedback → rolled out org-wide. Created a short guide to help next-gen leaders maintain it.
